We were delighted when Selfridges contacted us earlier this year to invite us to be part of their new Plastic-Free Beauty Edit.
Selfridges have been campaigning against plastic pollution for several years after launching their ‘Project Ocean’ Campaign in 2011 in partnership with the Zoological Society of London. They removed all single-use plastic carbonated drinks bottles from their food halls and restaurants. They banned plastic straws in 2017 and in 2016 stopped selling beauty products containing microbeads as part of their #OneLess pledge. In a series of initiatives designed to help turn the tide on plastic pollution, they started to recycle coffee cups to make their iconic yellow bags and in 2015 they removed all plastic carrier bags from their stores.
Each year a new initiative is launched and this year, to carry on from these important steps towards their goal of creating ethical luxury, Selfridges are launching their ‘Plastic Free Beauty Edit’ on Thursday 6thJune, to celebrate World Oceans Day which is on 8thJune. The special ‘glass tank’ will showcase the best plastic free beauty products on the market, and we are so proud that Beauty Kubes will be part of that.
They will also be introducing a recycling programme for all beauty products and packaging that they retail on their stores and online. This is a beauty industry first, no other beauty retailers in the UK are currently offering this service.
The full range of our Beauty Kubes shampoo, conditioner and body wash products will be available from Selfridges Oxford Street Store, London, Bull-Ring Birmingham, Trafford Centre - Manchester and Selfridges Online.
